Course content
Theoretical and practical preparation of the student to plan, realize and reflect the teaching of elementary reading and writing 1. Definition of terms in the field of reading literacy 2. Development and precursors of writing 3. Factors influencing the result of writing, diagnostics of prerequisites for reading and writing 4. Qualitative typefaces (linear font, Comenia Script) 5. Initial reading and writing in the context of the curriculum 6. Historical methods in teaching reading and writing 7. Current and alternative methods in teaching reading and writing (analytical-synthetic method, global method, genetic method, Good Start method, ...) 8. Graphomotor exercises, physical practisse, breathing, voice and articulation exercises 9. Preparatory class 10. Specifics of motivation in the 1st year 11. Development of reading and writing literacy, reading strategies 12. Problems of formative evaluation in the educational field of Czech language and literature

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Preparation for the Exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Attendace - 9 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 5 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course includes the readiness of the child to enter school. It outlines the history and development of writing, development of teaching methods of reading and writing. Students get familiar with literature, teaching aids and methodological procedures used in the implementation of teaching practice. They learn to work with a Živá abeceda, Slabikář and methodological handbooks, and learn to prepare selected types of reading and writing lessons.
Students will gain the competences acquired in relation to the subject content and its objectives.
Prerequisites
General orientation in the field of pedagogy, didactics and pedagogical diagnostics.

Mark, Student performance, Didactic Test, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

- min 50% active participation in lessons - realization and confirmation of observation practice in the first year of primary school (min 4 lessons) - copybook for the first year of primary school according to the standard font - creating a portfolio of relaxation and graphomotor exercises for the preparatory writing period - didactic test
