Course content
Decisions in criminal matters. Legal power and the enforcement of judgment. The status and tasks of the public prosecutor. Tasks single judge / presiding judge in criminal proceedings. Sentencing. Limits of criminal defense. Evidence in criminal proceedings. Defence against decisions and other interventions through the complaint to the Constitutional Court.

Learning outcomes
The optional subject The Judge in Criminal Proceedings continues the compulsory subjects SubstantiveCriminal Law I., II. and the Criminal Procedural Law I., II.. Its aim is to enable the students to gain deeper knowledge of selected areas of the substantive and procedural criminal law. The classes will take the form of lectures on selected issues (verdicts in criminal matters, legal power and enforceability etc.) and practical work with sample criminal files. Another part of the classes will také place at the court (district, regional) in Olomouc.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law.
Prerequisites
Completion of this subject is conditional upon completion of the subject criminal law 3.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

In order to be successful at the colloquy it is essential that the students attend the lectures and seminars in the scope set by the seminar leader and complete oral exam.
