Course content
|
Mental health - disease, topic of normality, deprivation, children's neurotization, school disorders, stress and its influence on the psyche. Classification of basic pathological phenomenons, their occurrence and impact on the school atmosphere.

Learning outcomes
|
After completing this subject students should be able to: - know and explain the basic categories of the mental development disorders, - use acquired knowledge in the process of education. The classification of mental development disorders and their causes. Various concepts of norm, normality and pathology. The prognosis and determination of the psychopathological phenomenon during the child's development. Deprivation syndrome and the possible ways of therapy, Minimal Brain Dysfunction, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, causes and manifestation of neurotic development during childhood, mental retardation and possible ways of education, disorders connected with a specific development period.
Students will be eligible explanations of terms and definitions from the field of psychology

Literature study, active participation in seminars, working up tasks according to teacher's requirements.
