Course content
Psychology - sources, subject, main directions, discipline system. Review of methods - principles and application possibilities. Temperament, cognitive processes, motivation and intelligence. Feelings - determination, meaning, emotional intelligence. The developmental psychology, as a basic psychological discipline, observes the longlife development of Man. It provides an orientation to the mental development of human individual from its prenatal development up to old age inclusive of dying. Besides the ordinary description of developmental changes attending single life phases, the given subject provides information on development regularities and, first of all, on factors affecting the development of human psyche.

Learning outcomes
In concurrence to the previous baccalaureate teaching programme, findings from both psychological disciplines are extended, with emphasis on the concept of Man as a multidimensional unit. The subject contains the following topics: The sources and roots of psychology, summary of the main trends in psychology, a system of psychological disciplines and a summary of the methods. Determination of human psyche and a summary of the developmental regularities. The specifics of individual developmental phases. Development of a child's speech, drawing, play, laterality, etc.
Students will be eligible explanations of terms and definitions from the field of psychology

Basic knowledge of psychology

Literature study, active participation in seminars, working up tasks according to teacher's requirements.
