Course content
Seminars' topics: Relationship between the EC and Communist bloc, development of situation to 1993 Relationship between EC/EU and the CR from the application to the Helsinki summit Progress of accession negotiations and main problems on both sides Closure of negotiations (Copenhagen summit), ratification phase Theoretical analysis of evaluation of causes and progress of accession process Impact of CR accession in the sector of transport Impact of CR accession in the sector of agriculture Relationship of Czech political scene towards enforcing Czech priorities in the EU Czech interests in the EU- the most important issues that have occurred since 2004 Impact of Czech representatives in EU institutions

Learning outcomes
The membership of the Czech Republic in EU has brought one of the most significant changes to Czech citizens in the last 15 years. There are many rights and duties tied to membership whose knowledge should be obligatory to the graduates of this programme. Within the scope of the course the students will be introduced into many issues which are otherwise neglected and not covered by other courses at the Faculty of Law. Specifically it concerns the political science approach to the analysis of the accession process of the Czech Republic or selected practical impacts of the accession. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students who have completed this course will knowledge and skills needed for comprehension of the Czech Republic role in the integration process and get to know the main priorities of our state in it.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Obligatory attendance in seminars, delivery of presentation and successful final test result are required in order to receive credit. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
