Learning outcomes
|
This course examines aspects of state and non-state conflicts, struggle over resources, climate change, and impact of international governmental and non-governmental institutions from the point of sustainability theory and its applicability. Students will become familiar with the links between political stability, human rights protection, economic security, environmental sustainability, long-term human development, social, economic and environmental impacts of inequality, and peace cooperation in domestic and foreign policies.
Students should be able to identify and analyse regional, national and international aspects of sustainable development with respect to political, economic and social factors in regions affected by conflicts. The course deepens students' knowledge in the area of conflict resolution, international law and organization as well as it strengthens students'analytical skills.

Student performance
To complete the course, the student will be required to actively participate in the seminars, prepare a presentation, and pass a set of assignments.
