Learning outcomes
The main objective of the one-semester long course is to get students acquainted with the contemporary problems of democratic governance in the world. Attention will be oriented towards theory of democracy and contemporary varieties of democracy, the topics such as consolidation of democracy difficulties or democratization of supranational structures (case of EU) will be covered as well.
Students who have completed this course should identify the main problems of democratization in the world. They will also strengthen their analytical skills.
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Obligatory attendance in seminars, active participation and successful final test result are required in order to receive colloquium.
