Learning outcomes
This course explores the importance of culture in everyday life and the way culture affects people's perception and communication. Applying key intercultural communication theories, frameworks and practices, students will develop skills and strategies that will allow them to communicate more appropriately and effectively in intercultural and multicultural environments, while increasing their own cultural self-awareness. They will also develop transversile skills to be ready to perform well in globalized workplaces.
By completing this course, students will " develop a deeper understanding of the field of intercultural communication and relevant concenpt and theories; " increase cultural self-awareness, other culture awarness and the dynamics that arises from the interactions between the tow; " apply relevant intercultural tools to identify challenges of intercultural communication, bridge cultural gaps and handle challenging situations more sensitively and effectively; " develop a more open-minded attitude when working in inter-cultural teams and evironments;
Prerequisites
The completion of this course is not conditioned upon completion of any other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

In order to successfully complete the course, students are required to participate actively in classes, complete home assignments, submit 3 journal entries on specified themes and submit a cultural analysis project.
