Course content
|
Basics of scientific work, the methodology of science. Ethics of scientific work. Approaches of quantitative research and qualitative research, their theoretical background. Methods and techniques of data collection and their applications. For quantitative research: selection of research techniques, sampling, representativeness, piloting, preliminary research, research, data sorting first and second degree. Interpretation of research results. Application of methods of relational analysis and statistical tests of significance. For qualitative research: a research design, selection of data collection techniques, theoretical sensitivity, the method of writing data, triangulation, etc. Presentation of research results.

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on both quantitative and qualitative research strategy, depending on the students' projects. The goal is to handle topics: application of methods of data collection, sorting first and second degree, interpretation of results, application of relational analysis and statistical tests of significance. The qualitative methodology to design appropriate research strategy for data collection, select the appropriate data collection techniques, their record, triangulation, etc.
Students will be able to use the methods and techniques of both quantitative and qualitative research on the topic of education. He will be able to process data, write it, use the methods of graphic presentation of data, in the case of quantitative research applied descriptive statistics and tatistical analysis and testing methods for graphical presentation of research results. Will be able to assemble the final research report. Will know the the ethical principles related to implementation research.

Basic knowledge of methodology, mathematics and statistics.
