Course content
The course introduces students to the issues of children from dysfunctional families, competencies of social workers as part of social and legal protection of children, their cooperation with a family, paediatrician, school and other experts, it deals with specific cases (neglect, maltreatment and sexual abuse), where healthy development of children is endangered. Furthermore, it provides an overview of all types of institution care facilities, refers to forms of substitute family care ? adoption, foster care, guardianship and custody by another physical entity, and to procedures of competent authorities as part of the integration (cooperation between state and non-state organizations).

Learning outcomes
This subject provides information about these topics: children from dysfunctional families, the potential of social workers within the bounds of social-legal protection of children, cooperation within the family, paediatrician, school and other specialists. It deals with topics such as neglect, maltreatment and sexual abuse which endanger healthy phylogeny of children. It purveys information about various kinds of institutions for hospital treatment or substitutes of family care - adoption, foster care, guardianship and consigners into the care of the individual. It also informs about the cooperation of state and non-state organizations and as well as their potential.
Students are familiar with the types of integration of children into society, in the relevant legislation, control foster care system and processes of social and legal protection of children.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of family sociology , developmental psychology, and social policy.
