Course content
Introduces students to new forms of social care in our country, in concurrence to adopting the Act no. 108/2006 of the Coll. on social services, as amended by subsequent regulations. Emphasis is laid on individual approach to a user, his/her activation, integration, forms of care: field, out-patient and residential. Comparison between social care in our country and selected countries of the European Union.

Learning outcomes
This subject gives information about the development of institutional social care in the Czech Republic, with its impact on changes according to new Law num. 108/2006 Sb. about social services. It deals with quality standards of social care (procedural, personal, operational). It places emphasis on individual plans for each user, emphasizing the succession of medical, and social and educational care. The subject gives overview of state and private institutions in the area of social care and community planning of social care.
Students are familiar with the Social Services Act , controls the quality standards of social services , strategy development planning individual users, continuity of health, social and educational care. Has an overview of state and non-state residential care facilities in the community planning of social services
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of social policy , social work and social care.

Student performance

Elaborating a seminar thesis on the subject of Social care in the past and today, an essay on the topic of Individual plan for a user of social services in an institutional facility.
