Course content
Cantonese - the language Cantonese sound system - initials, finals, tones Phonetic symbols Basic useful expressions Numerals, Money, Date, Time Measure words Conversational topics: - Greeting at the airport - Getting around - Accomodation - Money Exchange - Self-introduction - Meeting friends

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basics of Cantonese phonology, Jyutping transcription and basic conversational phrases in Cantonese. The conversation topics covered are: self introduction, meeting friends, shopping, orientation etc.
The aim of the course is to give introduction into Cantonese language with the focus on language practice.
Prerequisites
Spoken knowledge of English or Chinese language, which is the language of instruction.
