Course content
(1) History of quantitative linguistics (2) G. K. Zipf and others (synergetic linguistics) (3) Theoretical foundations of quantitative linguistics (4) Method of quantitative analysis of the acoustic level of language (5) Method of quantitative analysis of morphology (6) Method of quantitative analysis of syntax (7) Method of quantitative analysis of semantics (8) Method of quantitative analysis of text

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce basic characteristics of quantitative linguistics. History of the field as well as its theoretical foundations will also be introduced. The course also presents certain methods of quantitative analysis of natural language.
Knowledge of basics of quantitative linguistics (methodology, history) Ability to apply theoretical knowledge of quantitative linguistics in practice in concrete text analyses
