Course content
The course introduced basic literary periods and their historical, political, and cultural background. Attention is paid to the mutual cultural interaction between Germans and Czechs. Germanisch-heidnische Dichtung, Karolingische Rennaissance, Epik der Stauferzeit, Heldenepik, Minnesang, Spätmittelalter, Schwank, Lachkultur, Humanismus und Reformation, Ackermann aus Böhmen, Reformation in Deutschland (Böhmen), Meistergesang, Reformationsdrama, Volksbücher, Literatur des Barock

Prerequisites
The identification of particular creative periods with the consideration of historical, political and cultural developmental trends, and literary work as their reflection. The mutual influence of Czech and German culture within their historically conditioned coexistence. The hermeneutic method of the interpretation of a literary work includes also methodic instructions.
