Learning outcomes
|
Students will acquire the knowledge of musical forms of the European music and methods of formal analysis. Tectonic issues of musical composition are also discussed.
Acquired knowledge: The student: - knows basic form types of European music, methods of musical-form analysis and regularities of musical architecture; - has a command of necessary theoretical terminology. The student is: - able to carry out a form analysis of classical-romantic music and some polyphonic forms; - able to describe the tectonic process of a work; - able to find and name motivic relations in the structure of a work. Acquired qualifications: The student is able to use acquired knowledge and skills in a complex analysis of a musical work that is dealt with in the courses Analysis of Music Compositions 1 - 3.
