Course content
Students will be introduced with basic concepts of integration: integration, inclusion, exclusion, separation. In addition, students gain theoretical knowledges and basic practical skills for working with pupils with special educational needs. The acquired knowledge will be linked with practical examples of working with pupils with special educational needs and work with compensative aids. Students after completing this course should acquire basic skills for social pedagogical working with pupils with special educational needs. 1.Basic concepts a.basic divisions, basic approaches b.what is integration, inclusion, exclusion, separation, socialization 2.Historic landmarks a.basic approaches to people with disabilities 3.Legislative determination 4.Fundamentals of diagnosis a.special educational diagnosis, differential diagnosis b.creating an individual plan 5.Integration of pupils with hearing impairment a.treatment environment, modification of teaching materials b.work with the hearing aid - basic rules of treatment 6.Integration of pupils with speech problems a.demonstration of basic assistive devices - their use 7.Integration of pupils with visual impairment a.rules for working students with a visual handicap b.aids - their use in practice c.example Braille, working with a typewriter 8.Integration of pupils with physical and multiple handicap a.treatment environment b.demonstration of work for assistive devices (guiding principles for individuals in wheelchairs) c.specific communications with a student with disabilities 9.Integration of pupils with mental disabilities a.quality standards for social services b.treatment environment aids 10.Integration of pupils with behavioral problems 11.Situation with a talent pupils in elementary school

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students with the importance of the concept of integration and the importance of other concepts related to integration (exclusion, segregation, integration). Students will gain a basic understanding of integration efforts in history, the concept of integration in the world and the legislative background for integration. Also, they will learn the basics of integration in relation to different types of special educational needs of schoolchildren. The aim of the seminars gives to students practical skills for pedagogical work with children and students with disabilities. Students will become familiar with various compensation aids and other tools that are used in the educational process of children and pupils with disabilities. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091
Students will be able to participate in the preparation of individual plans for selected children with special educational needs.

Assessment methods and criteria
Dialog, Seminar Work

Active cooperation in seminars. Propose a modification of the environment and educational situations for selected children with special educational needs. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS
