Course content

The sources of the EU-Law and the legislativ procedure - The sentence (types of predicates) 7. + 8. Institutions of the EU - Infinitive and verb phrases 9. + 10. Court of Justice of the European Union, Typs of cases - complex sentences 11. + 12. Principles of the EU-Law: Case Fall van Gent & Loos - complex sentences

Learning outcomes
Those students who choose this optional subject will acquire knowledges of legal language and the ability to practice their language skills in legal German. They will work in the lessons at the basic topics from the EU-Law, legal terms a grammar of the legal language and legal texts.
Basic competence in legal German - active as well as passive language skills in legal German (listening to lectures and taking notes of the lectures, Improving the knowledge of the EU law in german and mastering texts from textbooks and the subsequent presentation of the texts.

Completion of this subject is not conditional upon completion of another subject.

Student performance

It is essential that those students who would like to get the credit must have attendance at these seminars, they have to complete the tasks assigned by the seminar leader and they must be successful at the written test.
