Learning outcomes
While studying at the Law Faculty of Palacký University, the students must choose one language (out of three languages - English, French and German) as a compulsory subject. As the students come from the secondary schools their knowledge of the language is supposed to be on the upper-intermediate level. Therefore the subject called 1. foreign language is focused on technical legal terminology. Grammar and sentence structure, which characterize the legal text, are also repeated and supplemented in the first semester. The students work also with technical texts a learn to compare the German and Czech law.
Students who have completed this subject will gain knowledge and skills in the field of technical legal terminology and they will become familiar with german legal system.
Prerequisites
Completion of this subject is not conditional upon completion of another subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Didactic Test

In order to get the credit it is essential that the students have a regular attendance in the scope set by the seminar leader. The students must also complete the tasks assigned by the teacher.
