While studying at the Law Faculty of Palacký University, the students must choose one language (out of three languages - English, French and German) as a compulsory subject. As the students come from the secondary schools their knowledge of the language is supposed to be on the upper-intermediate level. Therefore the subject called 1. foreign language is focused on technical legal terminology. In the third year of their studies, the students can continue with their first foreign language as an optional subject "English for Specific Purposes" (ESP), or "Fachsprache Deutsch" (FBD), or "French in EU Law" (FUP).
Students who have completed this subject will gain knowledge and skills in the field of technical legal terminology and they will become familiar with Anglo-American legal system.
