Course content
1. The definition, nature and subject of administrative law 2. Public administration ? State administration ? what are the differences between administration, civil service and State administration? 3. Administrative organisation ? what are the specific features of the French administrative system? 4. Decentralised territorial authorities ? functioning of municipalities in the Czech Republic 5. Decentralised territorial authorities ? functioning of regions in the Czech Republic 6. Local government bodies and territorial authorities ? municipality, department, region 7. The municipality, the town hall and the municipal council in France 8. The legal framework of the department in France 9. The legal framework of the region in France 10. The préfet (Prefect) 11. Administrative police ? concept 12. Administrative police ? organisation

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
In the Summer semester this seminar builds on the topics from the winter semester and focuses on the legal regime of administrative acts, administrative liability, minor offences, and judicial review of public administration. Classes include case law analysis, case studies, and professional discussions conducted in French.
Students will gain knowledge and skills in the field of technical terms used in administrative law.

Completion of this subject is not conditional upon completion of another subject.

Student performance

In order to get the credit it is essential that the students have a regular attendance in the scope set by the seminar leader. The students must also complete the tasks assigned by the teacher.
