Learning outcomes
This course builds on the required courses "Professional Foreign Language 1" and "Professional Foreign Language 2," which are taught in the first year. Thematically, it focuses on German and, to some extent, Austrian constitutional lawthe legislative, executive, and judicial branches, fundamental rights, and constitutional adjudication. In addition to specialized terminology and a basic overview of the legal framework, the course also covers essential grammatical features typical of legal language and aims to develop listening comprehension and speaking skills. The goal of this course and the subsequent semester is for students to master, in German, a comparison with Czech constitutional law in terms of both content and language.
After completing the course, students will know the legal concepts in the context of content, will be able to understand moderately demanding authentic texts and express themselves on basic issues within the topics discussed in comparison with the Czech legislation.
