Course content
1. The post-war period 1945 - 1959 - the beginning of the existence of the European Community. The Schumann Plan. 2. ESUO, The Roman Treaty and the common market of the European Economic Community and EURATOM 3. EC Enlargement, the Single European Act 4. The Maastricht Agreement upon the European Union, the Amsterdam Agreement, The Agreement from Nice 5. The Proposal of the European Constitution, Lisbon Treaty 6. Functioning and organization of the EU 7. The European Union Council and the Chairmanship 8. The European Parliament and the European Commission 9. European Justice 10. The European Accountancy Court, European Economic and Social Committee, Regions' Committee, European Central Bank, European Investment Bank 11. Specific Types of Proceedings 12. The protection of human rights and freedoms within the EU 13. The European Ombudsperson

Learning outcomes
In their second year the students continue with the 2nd foreign language chosen. From the very beginning the course is focused on professional legal terminology covering the issues connected with the EU, especially the organization, role and functioning of the specific EU institutions. The course is taught in the foreign language chosen.
Students who complete this subject will deepen their knowledge and practice their skills in the area of technical terminology related to Community law and the European Law.

Students who want to complete this course must first successfully complete the previous course.

Student performance

In order to get the credit it is essential that the students have a regular attendance in the scope set by the seminar leader. The students must also complete the tasks assigned by the teacher.
