Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issues of professional legal language, with the legal terminology of basic legal branches and the legal system in a given language and to compare the terminology of a given foreign language with Czech legal terminology. The basic method is to work with a professional text in order to activate the acquired legal language and strengthen the ability to inform about basic aspects of Czech law in a foreign language. Basic topics: introduction to the terminology of legal branches, legislative, executive and judicial power in a given foreign language in comparison with the given Czech terminology.
Students who have completed this subject will deepen knowledge and skills in the field of technical legal terminology and they will become familiar with Anglo-American legal system.
Prerequisites
Completion of this subject is conditional upon successful completion of the subject BCJ1A.
