Course content
|
The content of seminars will be reading of excerpts written especially in neo-gothic script, Czech and Gemrna, which was used in different environments. To a smaller measure, seminars will be enriched by neo-gothic scripts, which were used outside Czech territory and texts written in humanistic scripts and print scripts. From a language point of view, classes will deal with Czech, Gemrna and Latin texts from the 16th to 20th century with many various abbreviations. HF

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of seminars is to practice reading and transcription (transliteration and transcription) of various texts from the 16th to 20th century written especially in gothic scripts (in German of English) that come from different environments. Then, students will learn to determine a date of establishment of a given text. HF
Students are able to read the historical scripts of the Latin sphere. HF

Prerequisites

The knowledge and skills from Paleography I.1. a 2. and Paleography II.1. a 2. are supposed. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Active class participation, to carry out assignments. A credit will be given for a transcription of a text written in neo-gothic script. HF
