Course content
Topic of this semester is Bible (biblical tales) in film.

Learning outcomes
The course familiarises a student with the perception of history through a film that is the most powerful factor in the creation of the historical public awareness. The films are chosen to present a complex view on the chosen historical phenomenon (i. g. reformation, WW1, etc.). For this semester, films accurately depicting history (since the pre-history until early modern period) have been chosen. Topic of this semester are Crusades in film. The course takes place in the Lecture Hall of Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology (Univerzitní 22) in the time 17:30-20:00.
A student will be acguainted with the historical context of a film and historical events so that he will realise a significant role of the interpretation that forms the historical awareness.
Prerequisites
The basic orientation in history. English language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test

Active preparation for individual lectures, presence, written essay in the extent of 5 pages. A film for an analysis will be selected by the lecturer and students will be informed during the lesson of 15th of April. The text is to submit by the application "Semestral works" on Portal UP up to 30th April (23:59 h.)
