Selected chapters from Urnfield Period and Hallstat Period (Golec). Selected chapters from Roman Period and Migration Period (Zeman). Monastic Archaeology (Nováček). Lecture: Paleolithic technologies, reflection of man and society in context of natural conditions will be realized in WS 2019/2020. Lectures by doc. Mgr. Zdenka Nerudova, Ph.D. (external lecturer, Institute of Anthropos MZM in Brno). They will be thematically divided into the following headings: A. Stone and its use for chipped, ground and coarse artifacts. Mineral resources of Moravia and adjacent areas, ways of their exploitation, use in Palaeolithic, distribution. Recognition of artifacts, their description, basic terminology. B. Wood. Findings, methods of production, terminology, utilization. C. Industries of Hard Animal Tissues. D. Interpretation of findings. Problems of surface findings. Identifying toolpaths and their importance in determining settlement activity. E. Reconstruction of Housing Estate Based on Available Archaeological Findings Using Natural Science Analysis. Mobility of paleolithic populations, ethnological parallels, practicality versus aesthetics. Individual topics will be presented in the context of time; typical products, ways of their production, human behavior and its connection to the landscape will be highlighted.

Learning outcomes
Lectures extend steady set task of teached subject of bachelors study. Lectures talk about special focused themes and results of actual researches in Czech Republic and in foreign countries. Students are familiar with concrete (selected) matters of prehistorical, prothohistorical and historical culture development (the beginning of neolithization, selected chapter from research Neolithic and Eneolithic, monastic Archaeology, Archaeology of nowadays etc.). Students gain knowledge of main scientific persons of Czech and Moravian Archaeology. Students choose from actual offer of talked cycles at five times. Lecture: Paleolithic technologies, reflection of man and society in context of natural conditions will be realized in WS 2019/2020. Lectures by doc. Mgr. Zdenka Nerudova, Ph.D. (external lecturer, Institute of Anthropos MZM in Brno). The lectures are focused on complex knowledge of various paleolithic technologies during the old paleolithic period in the context of the natural environment. Geographically, the Czech and Moravian environment will be dealt with in particular.

Prerequisites
Basic orientation in the oldest history of our lands.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Attend entrance turitorial - 1 hour: acquainted with contein and form of study subject, delivery resource materials. Attend at half-day running tutorial on selected theme. Students realize actual lecture in concrete semester. Consultations - four consultations at the begginig and runnig semester at least, set process of individual study (giving of study literature) and tasking themes of professional essays. Student can agree more consultations. Student can choose form of consultation with lecturer personally, on email, skype, facebook etc. Requirements doc. Nerudové: 1. Attendance at lectures, 2nd Interview - General orientation in issues, 3. Short oral presentation of a studied article or book according to the teacher's assignment.
