understand current cartographic research issues and cartographic research questions; evaluate cartographic research approaches; combine spatial data with other non-spatial data; evaluate different cartographic techniques, principles and methodologies according to the applicability to the intended project; create user- and purpose-oriented results for the intended project; discuss and present the applied cartographic/design methodologies with/to experts.
