Course content
The subject is focused on the basic aspects of web cartography and the specifics of web cartography compared to traditional cartography. All tasks are based on basic cartographic principles. Selected cartographic topics are presented with an emphasis on the connection of geographic and computer cartography with the Internet environment. As part of the exercises, students practically master Esri and Leaflet technologies. The course includes seminars where students present their independent work leading to the independent compilation of a web map concept. The subject is focused on mastering basic work with web map libraries. Completion of the subject is done by practical verification of skills with the acquired systems. Syllabus: - Anchoring of web cartography, definition of terms - History and milestones - Prerequisites - Data aspects -- GeoJSON + Geopackage formats - Software aspects -- Esri Platform -- Leaflet - Technological and economic aspects - Cartographic aspects

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the field of web cartography. The subject provides a clear definition of terms and introduces students to the context of web cartography, its differences and specifics from traditional cartography. Individual aspects of web cartography are addressed, including the pillars for creating your own map applications: data and libraries.
The subject aimed at acquiring knowledge of web cartography. Define the main terms and procedures, describe the main approaches, demonstrate theoretical knowledge for solving web cartography problems.
Prerequisites
Application of knowledge from previous studies, knowledge of cartography.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Requirements for successful completion of the course: Presentation of the semester work according to the specified requirements. 80% participation in classes (2 absences per semester allowed). Credit test completed with at least 70%. The content of the credit is theoretical issues presented in written form as part of the lectures. The content of the exam is the practical acquisition of loaded knowledge during exercises.
