Course content
|
The course content (scope of the internship) is determined by the specific academic focus of the UP study program in which the applicant is enrolled. The work performed at the host institution abroad must constitute full-time employment in accordance with the local labor regulations. The scope of the internship must be sufficiently comprehensive and specific. The intern should not replace a regular employee or serve as an auxiliary worker performing non-specialized tasks. The internship should also not consist primarily of observation; rather, the intern should be regularly observed and provided with feedback. A detailed internship program must be established in advance and approved by a representative of the foreign host organization, a responsible representative of UP, and the student themselves. During the internship, the student remains in regular contact with the relevant coordinator at UP, who monitors the abroad internship and assists the student in resolving any complications that may arise.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide students with professional, social, and intercultural experiences in an international environment; to test and expand, through practical application, the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired through their studies; and to offer them the opportunity to improve their teamwork skills and to strengthen and enhance their communication in a foreign language in everyday professional settings. Students must register for the course in the academic year in which the internship will be completed. Credits will be awarded in the same academic year.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to their field of study in a specific international work environment; furthermore, they will be able to apply soft skills in an international context and respond appropriately to situations that arise.

Prerequisites
|
This course is intended for students in their 2nd and 3rd years of bachelor's programs, 1st and 2nd years of master's programs, and doctoral programs. Students are expected to have an active knowledge of the foreign language that will serve as the language of communication during their stay abroad, at a minimum of B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Before beginning the internship itself, it is recommended that students complete an intercultural communication course in the relevant language. Graduates of these courses will be given priority when applications for international internships are reviewed.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student, Certificate of Graduation of Internship
The student completes a practical internship at a foreign organization for a minimum duration of 1 month without interruption. During the internship, the student follows the instructions of the foreign supervisor and the relevant internship coordinator at UP. Upon returning from the internship, the student must submit a final internship report by the specified deadline. The student must also submit the original certificate of completion of the international internship issued by the host organization, as well as any other documents required by UP in accordance with applicable internal guidelines.
