Main topics: 1. Forming the concept of sustainable development 2. Theoretical foundations and pillars of sustainable development 3. Indices and indicators in sustainable development 4. Agenda 21 and Local Agenda 21 5. Sustainable city (healthy city, green city, smart city, compact city...) 6. Current trends in sustainable development of settlements and regions (in the Czech Republic) 7. Examples of good practice in the sustainable development of settlements and regions 8. Research in the field of sustainable development

Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Group work
Learning outcomes
Students will learn about sustainable development and related concepts. Emphasis will also be placed on current trends in the field and the application of sustainable development and related concepts to the development of municipalities and regions, not only in the Czech Republic.
