Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the system for drafting project applications and the project management system in the field of spatial planning and regional development. The course focuses on the main methods and problem areas of projects in public administration, with an emphasis on developing skills related to project preparation. The main emphasis is placed on the practical aspects of implementing projects funded by ministerial grant schemes and European investment and structural funds at the various stages of the project cycle. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will be able to draw up and implement both the substantive and financial aspects of a project, prepare a standard project application in relation to the identification of the relevant problem area, apply the appropriate tools for preparing the substantive and budgetary sections, and identify potential risks for the applicant. The seminars will take the form of practice-oriented teaching focused on developing project management skills, including the development of students' relevant soft skills (particularly in the area of teamwork). Students will prepare their own project application and present their project.

Prerequisites
|
Students have a basic knowledge of regional geography, regional development and public administration acquired during their previous studies. They are familiar with the principles governing the functioning of local government, regional policy and development strategies at local, regional and national levels. They possess basic skills in working with specialist information sources, statistical data and office software. Students are expected to be able to work independently, collaborate in a team, think critically and participate actively in solving case studies.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Knowledge of the course content, as covered in lectures and the designated reading list, assessed through a final examination. Completion of term projects and their presentation.
