Course content
Main topics: theory of the relationship between society and space; behavioral foundations of social organization; time and the role of time; geography of time; distance and the role of distance; theory of organization of space; methods of spatial analysis; spatial and social anchors (geographical organization of residence, work and education, leisure); mobility and migration.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to basic theories of the organisation of space and society and to real spatial and developmental tendencies and patterns of basic human activities.
Understanding the interrelationship between space and society, skills in using basic and advanced methods of spatial analysis of geographic data.
Prerequisites
Advanced level of GIS work, basic orientation in geographical concepts and terminology, ability to understand professional literature, and knowledge of principles of academic ethics are expected. Experience with scientific methodology is an advantage, but not necessary for successful completion of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam, Seminar Work

Requirements for course credit: active participation in exercises, completion of assigned tasks. Exam requirements: knowledge within the scope of lectures and assigned literature.
