Course content
|
The course covers the following topics: the city's geographic location; the natural environment and its influence on the city's current landscape; historical development, population growth, and spatial expansion; the current internal socioeconomic spatial structure; the city's current development and administration; the connections between the city and its surrounding area; and Olomouc's position among Czech cities of comparable size.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of this course is to provide students with a basic geographical overview of the city of Olomouc.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to navigate the city with ease and describe the spatial distribution of various geographic phenomena and the relations between them.

Prerequisites
|
High school-level knowledge of Czech geography and history.
|

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Seminar Work
Submission of a term paper that meets the required standards, and successful completion of the final written test.
