Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of urban geography. Students will become familiar with the development of cities, their position within the settlement system, the internal organisation of the city, and the main processes shaping cities today. Students apply the knowledge acquired in their own project focused on a specific Czech city.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student: is familiar with the basic terms and concepts of urban geography; understands the processes that shape and transform contemporary cities; is able to document and explain a selected process or phenomenon in a specific city.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Seminar Work
Successful completion of the course requires: 1.active participation in seminars and submission of the assigned tasks on time, 2. completion and presentation of a semester project, 3. passing a written examination.
