Course content
|
The course covers the following topics: types and sources of digital data for use in GIS software; creation of spatial and attribute data; selection of cartographic projections; georeferencing; querying attribute and spatial data; cartographic design.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal of this course is to acquire basic proficiency in handling GIS software using ArcGIS Pro.
Upon completion of the course, students will understand basic theory and terminology of the GIS field, and will be able to use ArcGIS Pro software at a basic level.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge and skills from the course "Maps and GIS" (KGG/MAG), and high school-level knowledge of geography, mathematics and information technology. Ability to work independently on a computer.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Seminar Work, Written exam
Active participation in classes, elaboration of seminar works to the required standard, final examination.
