Course content
|
Course deals with: geographic delimitation of the region, basic physical geographic characteristic (geological development, geomorphologic, climatic, hydrologic, pedogeographic, biogeographic conditions, nature and landscape conservation), basic socio-economic characteristic (position of the region in the world, historical development and its influence on formation of European society, general population characteristics, agriculture, industry, transportation, services and tourism, integration with emphasis on the EU), the most important political geographical, social, economic and safety issues of the region, regional overview.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students into regional geography of Europe and of its states and regions.
Identify main geographical phenomena and spatial organization of Europe.

Knowledge within the scope of general geographical disciplines of the bachelor study of geography.
