Course content
The course content is divided into three main blocks: a) Geography as a scientific discipline: This section will explore attempts to define geography, the relationship between academic and popular geography, and the various sub-disciplines of geography. b) The history and present of Czech geography with a focus on Olomouc c) Fundamentals of scientific work: This block will address the principles of science and scientific ethics, the nature of scientific texts, and the purpose and importance of citations.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to introduce geography as a scientific discipline and to provide an introduction to the fundamentals of scientific work.
Recall object and subject of the geographical studies.
Prerequisites
Knowledge within the scope of secondary school geography.

Written exam
