Course content
|
The field training will be focused on regional environmental geology in the area of the Western Carpathians and the western margin of the Bohemian Massif. The visits to selected units on the territory of the Czech and Slovak Republics will be aimed at the recognition of their rock content, structure and stratigraphic position. The trainees will be acquainted with methods of environment monitoring on localities selected to represent various types of the environment - urban environment, environment impacted by industrial activity (chemical production - Precheza Přerov), by mining and quarrying, by military activities, as well as non-contaminated environment in the area of natural preserves and carst area. Study of typical outcrops and profiles in the country, assumption of practical skills (soil and water sampling).

The field training focused on regional environmental geology in the area of the Western Carpathians and the western margin of the Bohemian Massif.
The students will: - become aware of environmental issues specific to selected areas on the Western Carpathians and the western margin of the Bohemian Massif. - increase their knowledge of field and laboratory methods used to monitor the status of the environment by a hands-on experience on sites representing various types of the environment - urban environment, environment impacted by industrial activity - types of the environment - urban environment, environment impacted by industrial activity
