Photographic equipment and accessories, film, TV and digital cameras. Scientific close-up, macrophotography and microphotography for professional biologists. Computer graphics, software and hardware. Acquisition and archivation of data. Manual and automatic image analysis. Image processing. Practical course on image analysis using Matlab. Demonstration of routine image analysis in pathology and hematology.

Methods of acquiring image data in biology and exploiting image analysis.
Student should be able to (after attending the course) describe and explain: Photographic equipment and accessories, film, TV and digital cameras. Scientific close-up, macrophotography and microphotography for professional biologists. Computer graphics, software and hardware. Acquisition and archivation of data. Manual and automatic image analysis. Image processing. Practical course on image analysis using Matlab.
