Course content
The cycle is divided into several separate teaching blocks. The individual thematic blocks will be divided into a lecture and a follow-up seminar. The content and topics of the individual lectures and seminars are specified in the course moodle at the beginning of the semester.

Learning outcomes
The lecture series focuses on the most current trends in contemporary theatre practice, as well as on key themes and issues explored in contemporary theatre studies. Emphasis is placed in particular on exploring theatre arts in interdisciplinary, intermedia and intercultural contexts. It mainly reflects on recent foreign theatre-performative productions and seeks to characterize and contextualize them in relation to current theatre studies theories.
Upon completion of this course, the student will: - acquire terminology, basic historical milestones, personalities, companies and groups in contemporary Czech and foreign theatre, - acquire concepts for understanding and critiquing contemporary theatre culture, - they will be able to classify and explain the latest trends in various areas of contemporary theatre in the context of current developments.

The lecture is not conditioned with another course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Seminar Work

The subject has a comminuted ending. Students will end the course with a debate on a topic related to one of the lectures and in the debate they will demonstrate their knowledge of the material and their ability to analyse individual phenomena of Czech and foreign theatre. In order to receive credit before the examination, they will submit a seminar paper with the requirements of a professional text in the range of 5 ns (coherent formulation of ideas, abstract, use of Czech and foreign literature).
