Course content
The course consists of the following topics: 1. What is a scientific text? 2. Types of scientific text 3. How to read scientific texts 4. How to write a scientific text 5. The main principles of publishing ethics 6. Practical exercises 7. Formal aspects of scientific style 8. What to look for in oral presentations? The course also includes excursions to the Central Library of Palacký University, the Scientific Library - Historical Fonts Study Room, the District Archive, and the Diocesan Curia Registry in Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
This course aims to teach students how to independently produce a scientific text, thus preparing them to make qualifying works in the field of theological disciplines.
At the end of the course, students will: - know how to work with scientific text. - be familiar with the main Czech and foreign theological periodicals. - be able to search for scholarly literature on a given topic, including the use of databases such as Bible Works or Litterae ante portas. - Independently produce a simple scientific text.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of PC operation at the user level is assumed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

For successful completion of the course, it is necessary to study the teaching material posted on the Moodle server in the form of PowerPoint presentations, actively participate in the teaching, including professional excursions, and, above all, prepare a final seminar paper.
