Course content
Basic concepts concerning the Scriptures: setting of the traditions recorded in the Scripture, handing over of the religious traditions of Israel and of the early Church, biblical languages, formation of biblical books; the history of the text, Canon, apocrypha, inspiration, the question of the veracity of the Scripture, the history of exegesis and the interpretation of the Scripture in the Church, relevant Church documents about the Scripture.

Learning outcomes
Students will get a basic concepts, namely: setting and handing over of the religious traditions of Israel and of the early Church; biblical languages; formation of biblical books and the history of the text; Canon; apocrypha; inspiration, the question of the veracity of the Scripture; the history of exegesis and the interpretation of the Scripture in the Church; relevant Church documents.
Basic orientation in the Bible and in the constitution Dei Verbum. Equilibrate attitude to the historical critical research. Ability to discover fundamentalist attitude and to face it

To prove basic orientation in the subject matter during oral examination. The questions will be made public at the beginning of the course.
