Course content
The optional seminar has the character of practical course. Its theoretical background is formed by classical grammatical description. A substantial part of the seminar is devoted to morphological adaptations of loanwords. A) Orthographical norm and its relation to the morphological norm (labeling sounds with letters, spelling as a means of morphology and syntax) B) Morphological norm (nominal, adjectival and pronominal inflection) 1) Declension of nouns (appellativa, alternations, propria, nouns of foreign origin) 2) Inflection of adjectives (basic forms / "composed" forms and nominal forms, forms of 'possessive' adjectives) 3) Inflection of pronouns and gender C) Morphological norm (verbal inflection) 1) Verb classes and patterns 2) Indicative of present, imperative 3) The present, past and future transgressives, infinitive, past participle (-l), passive participle (-n / t), verbal noun

Learning outcomes
The aim to the course is practicing selected issues of present Czech morphology. The seminar also includes a brief presentation of "what is new in linguistics".
Practical knowledge of morphological norm of Modern Czech and its current tendencies of development, ability of stylistic evaluation of variants
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Czech spelling, knowledge of Czech grammar and terminology at the high school level

The prerequisites for granting credits: a) active participation - search "linguistic news", written assignment / supplementary paper, PowerPoint presentations b) passing the final test - knowledge of morphological norms
