Course content
|
Organization of work in the subsequent research phase: - schedule for completion of the work; consultation plan; formulation of requirements for the final editing of the thesis. Collection and organization of research material: - control of the corpus or analyzed file; arrangement, classification and archiving of data. Data analysis and analytical chapters: - application of the selected method; evaluation of the results of their interpretation; solving methodological problems; work with partial results; structuring the analytical part; creation of tables, graphs and appendices; formulation of a professional interpretation. Interpretation of results: connection of data with theoretical foundations; interpretation and argumentation; discussion; summary of results; contribution of the work; limits of the research and possibilities of further research. Linguistic and formal aspects of the thesis: - stylistic and terminological accuracy; work with annotation apparatus; control of citation standards. Final editing of the work: - unification of the structure (numbering of chapters); content and formal proofreading; control of bibliographical data. Preparation of the defense, creation of a presentation.

Learning outcomes
|
The seminar follows on from Diploma Seminar 1 and is focused on the implementation of the diploma project, processing of the obtained data and excerpts, interpretation of the results and creation of individual chapters of the diploma thesis. Students continuously present the results of the research and the status of their work, discuss with the supervisor the progress of the work and the chosen methodology, consult on problems related to research and academic writing. They prepare the final version of the diploma thesis and practice the course and method of its defense.
After completing the course, students: - independently carry out research related to the topic of the diploma thesis; - analyze and interpret the obtained data; - apply the chosen method to specific research material; - create a coherent professional text corresponding to the requirements of the final qualification thesis, master the standard of professional style; - present the results of their research in a professional context and discuss them; - formulate the conclusions of the work and name its limits; - prepare the diploma thesis for submission; - prepare its presentation and defense.

Prerequisites
|
Students are able to conduct professional research, analyze and interpret data, master the standard of academic writing, and have appropriate presentation skills.
