Learning outcomes

Students will draw on the results of the analyses performed within the discipline Reading and Interpretation of Text I. Students will once again be encouraged to recognize the basic function the text has, given the prevailing function, they will learn to assess the suitability of the means of expression used and, if necessary, to replace them with adequate means. In the follow-up course, they will analyze texts of professional, artistic and rhetoric styles, the rules of the basic genres, their compositions and the requirements of the style will be remembered. The use of lexis and the adequacy of its interpretation will be examined, together with syntactic construction of the statements (the use of the means of communication, the degree of complexity of the hierarchy, the occurrence of active and passive structures, the word order and the textbooks etc.), morphological norms, etc. Students will be able to place the text in the corresponding communication sphere and realize the differences in the used expression means according to their function in the communication act.
