Course content
|
The student gets personally acquainted with the working environment of the department/organization, gains professional experience, applies professional knowledge and skills in real practice. The internship will take place in specialized departments of both basic and applied research and in service laboratories of medical, food and agricultural orientation. At the selected workplace, the student will become familiar with the laboratory procedures and approaches used, sample preparation and evaluation of the results obtained. The internship includes activities that develop students' professional knowledge and skills in the field under the supervision of experienced professionals from laboratory and diagnostic practice. The student is assigned a supervisor for the placement, who also becomes the student's contact person. The internship will be carried out for a total of at least 6 weeks (i.e. 30 working days). The internship may be carried out in one block or divided over a longer period of time, even with several employers, after approval by the internship supervisor.

The student will gain practical professional experience, knowledge and skills from real practice in specialized workplaces of both basic and applied research and in service laboratories of medical, food and agricultural focus.

Prerequisites
|
By completing the courses in the 1st year of the follow-up Master's degree, the student gained the required knowledge of clinical biochemistry immunology, hematology and advanced methods of biochemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student
The output of the internship is the Attendance Certificate and the Report from the student's internship in a minimum of 2 standard pages. In the Report, the student describes the workplace and the scope of his/her practice, the methods, technologies and equipment used, the experience gained and the contribution of the practice to the student. Both documents must be signed by the student and the supervisor of the internship. The student shall send them in electronic form to the course supervisor immediately after the completion of the internship, but no later than the official deadline for fulfilling the course requirements for the academic year.
