Course content
Diagnosis of basic disorders of blood cell function-distinguishing malignant and non-malignant disorders. - Methods for monitoring within malignant disorders individual blood cell populations: erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets in both bone marrow and peripheral blood. Microscopic and digital evaluation of cells. - Diagnosis of anemias (microcytic hypochromic anemia, macrocytic anemia and disorders of erythrocyte metabolism - Laboratory diagnosis of leukocytes - cells of the immune system that protect the body physiologically from infectious diseases. - Diagnosis of hematological diseases, when already the number of leukocytes in the blood is often an indicator of the disease. Differential diagnosis of hematological disorders is then based on the characterization of individual leukocyte populations such as lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, basophils and eosinophils. - Diagnostic skills in the field of cellular analysis using flow cytometry to accurately identify individual cell populations using CD features. - Blood clotting diagnostics. Functional coagulation assays based on enzyme kinetics monitoring and specific chromogenic assays and immunoassays. - Diagnostics focused on blood clotting issues (disorders in serine protease activation, disorders of clotting inhibitors).
