Introduction of workplaces or research groups from various areas of biochemistry/bioinformatics - expanding students' knowledge about the applicability of biochemistry/bioinformatics in research practice and also introducing them to a potential workplace/trainer for the subsequent bachelor's thesis. Repetition and practice of knowledge acquired in the parallel lecture KBC/BCH (Fundamentals of Biochemistry) in the form of a presentation and practice activity (other students will also participate).

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Group work
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester

  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to introduce students to the topics for the elaboration of the bachelor's thesis in the next 3rd year. To acquaint students with various research groups in the field of biochemistry and thus introduce the workplaces where they can possibly work on their bachelor's thesis. Another aim of the seminar is to repeat and practice the knowledge gained in the parallel lecture KBC/BCH (Fundamentals of Biochemistry) and to better prepare for this important exam. The aim is also to strengthen the student's ability to process a biochemical topic and then present it in the form of a teaching lecture together with an exercise method intended for other students.
Obtaining an overview and information about workplaces in various areas of biochemistry. Introducing the listed topics of the bachelor's thesis. Repetition and practice of knowledge acquired by completing the KBC/BCH lecture (Fundamentals of Biochemistry). Studying information on biochemical topics from the list for the biochemistry exam, their clear processing and presentation. Increasing the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market, strengthening self-confidence, teamwork and the ability to present the assigned topic.
Prerequisites
The subject is taught in parallel with the course KBC/BCH Fundamentals of biochemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
