Course content
Identification of amino acids. Determination of isoelectric point of casein. Detection of glutamic acid in food flavorings. Qualitative analysis of carbohydrates in milk. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of carbohydrates in sweeteners. Protein determination by Bradford method in tube and microplate arrangement. Isolation of amine oxidase from pea seedlings and determination of its activity. Determination of Michaelis constant of interaction of pea amine oxidase with putrescine and inhibitory constant of selected inhibitor. Activity, substrate specificity and pH optimum of enzymes. Isolation of Ri-plasmid DNA from Agrobacterium rhizogenes strain R15834 by alkaline lysis method. Preparation of lipid fractions from egg yolk. Separation methods. Gel chromatography. Agarose electrophoresis. Determination of isoenzyme content of plant peroxidase by the method of discontinuous polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis under native conditions.

Student performance

Regular attending of the laboratory practicals. Successful performing of all experiments. In-time submission of complete reports containing evaluation of results.
