Objectives and Competencies : Students will learn about the concept and methodology of evidence-based practice in the context of healthcare and education. After completing the course, students should be able to: - describe the principles of Evidence-Based Pedagogy ( EBEd ); - define the principle of the procedure of applying appropriate evidence in practice; - clarify the link between EBP, EBEd and evidence-based health (EBHC); - to characterize world-renowned organizations focused on Evidence Based issues practice ; - specify the differences between the meaning of literature reviews and systematic reviews; - understand the essence of creating systematic reviews, qualitative and quantitative concepts; - perform an advanced search and describe a relevant study; - state the principles of critical evaluation of methodological quality and degree of reliability of research studies according to the hierarchy of scientific evidence; ? perform an advanced search and describe a relevant study; ? know the basic criteria for evaluating the research procedure from an ethical point of view. Main topics of the subject by individual weeks of teaching: 1. Pedagogy based on scientific evidence - goals, vision and principle of application in practice. World-renowned organizations focused on Evidence Based issues Practice and Czech EBP centers. 2. Types of literary sources and types of scientific articles - sources of evidence for practice. 3. Preparation of a targeted research strategy - formulation of RO, their components and identification of relevant texts. Implementation of structured searches and their registration. 4. Components of professional articles. Description of the methodology of primary studies and the principles of creating literature reviews. 5. Designs of primary research studies. 6. Rules for creating systematic reviews of qualitative and quantitative concepts. 7. Strength of outputs of individual types of studies. Principles of critical evaluation of the methodological quality of research studies. 8. Ethics of research work. Connection to pedagogical practice: Students will search for and analyze the content of studies with evidence for pedagogical practice. As part of the pedagogical assessment of the evidence found, they will discuss the possibility of implementing the knowledge gained in specific situations.
